Our character reel workflow includes an intense 90-180 minute recording session with multiple producers present on the front end. This can be split up in two depending on endurance. Phrase by phrase. Sometimes word by word. We work on custom copy together in advance. Then we record 20-30 spots. Just like a movie production, a bunch of B-material never makes it. Only believable characters make it on the reel. That’s what casting directors want.
Our dialogue editorial includes de-click, de-breath, de-plosive, pitch, timing, and pacing adjustments to give you a wider range. Our company has blanket usage agreements from a variety of music libraries. Professional music editors tailor each cue to fit the read (speed, pitch, breaks). Our character reels are properly compressed during mix through a high-end signal chain. EQ. Compression. De-ess. Multiband compression and final brick wall limiter to -13LUFS loudness standard. More dynamic and punchier than anything else out there. Mono compatibility checked. Digital compression to MP3 checked. QC’d by talent. Delivery is a final hi-res master in addition to an optimized MP3. We also deliver isolated music and dialogue stems to future-proof the reel.
